The engine in your fishing boat became waterlogged and lost power in the middle of the ocean. Looking toward the horizon, you spot two ships floating in your direction. You use a bright red towel as a distress signal and wave it up over your head. Both crews aboard the ships put their hands in the air and motion for you to join them. Do you join the crew on the [[small ship]] with the jet black sails or the crew on the [[modern-looking ship]] that appears to be almost double the size? As you get on the boat, you notice the elegant clothing worn by the members of the crew. Many of them had very intimidating weapons strapped to their coats. One man stepped out from the group and asked, "Will you [[join]] my crew on our journey to find buried treasure or do you wish to find out what happens if you [[don't obey]]?"You decide to board the large ship. The crew members unexpectedly surround you and announce their intention to have you tied up until they find out more information. Do you reluctantly [[accept]] their decision or [[fight back]] because you refuse to be treated like this? You decide to cooperate and join the crew. They toss you a sword and read you the pirate's code. You are surprised to discover that these men are pirates. Do you swear to be a loyal [[pirate]] or do you [[refuse]] to participate in this lifestyle? You refuse to join the crew members in their effort to find the buried treasure. You say, "Never!" One of the men grabs your hands from behind you and tells you to walk the plank. They display kindness by not tying you up or adding weights to your body. You are forced to jump into the water. You may [[go back|Start]] to your beginning location or keep treading water. You cooperate and let the men tie your hands behind your back. They question you for a while before deciding you're not a threat. One person asks, "What's your name?" <<textbox "$name" "Type your name here">>
The crew tells you about their hunt for buried treasure while they untie you. As they talk, you notice an orange and white signal flare by your foot. After what happened with your fishing boat, you realize the importance a tool like this holds. Do you reach down to [[pick it up|pick]] or [[remember|remember it]] its location in case you need it in the future? You decide to fight back against the crew's decision to tie you up. They grab you and force you to walk the plank. They show mercy by not adding weights to your body. You are forced to jump into the water. Do you want to [[go back|Start]] to the beginning or keep treading water? You decide to join the crew and officially become a pirate. One man in the group comes toward you and says, "I'm Captain Carroway and you will obey all my orders on this ship. Welcome aboard." You thank him and begin to explore the ship. There seems to be a unifying force among these individuals that drives them to engage in acts of piracy. Do you ask the crew members the [[reason]] for their actions or would you rather [[not draw attention to yourself|reason]]?You refuse to join them after finding out the crew is made up of dishonest pirates. They immediately make you jump off the ship. Do you [[go back|Start]] to the beginning location or continue swimming around? The question on your mind is answered unexpectedly by a man with a peg leg. "You probably have a lot questions about what we do. First rule, don't ask questions. You may think you're a pirate, but you have a lot to prove before we let you do the asking around here. You can call me Peter Peg, and what shall we call you?" After careful consideration, you tell him what you wish to be called. Do you pick "[[Cap'n Crunch|name]]" or "[[Long John Silver|name]]"? After you tell him what you want to be called, Peter Peg laughs and says, "You thought you got to pick your name? HA! We'll call you Jelly Joe because I have a feeling you share quite a few characterisitcs with jellyfish when it comes to not much going on in that head of yours." Do you [[laugh]] at these comments or [[defend|laugh]] yourself? Peter adds, "Don't worry Joe, I'm mostly kidding. We like to have fun around here so loosen up a bit. You can't have a parrrrrty without the 'arrrrr!' Why don't you go explore the ship a bit? Just stay away from the bottom level. That's the Captain's private area."
You listen to what he says and [[look around]] the ship or sneak off to [[snoop]] around the Captain's headquarters. You decide to look around the ship and stay within the area you were ordered to. After a while though, your curiosity gets the best of you, so you head down to the Captain's quarters. When you enter his room, you immediately spot a signal flare underneath his desk. After what happened with your fishing boat, you realize the importance a tool like this holds. Do you want to [[pocket]] the flare or [[remember]] that it's there in case of an emergency? You decide to sneak into the Captain's quarters and look around. Do you want to [[pocket]] the flare or [[remember]] that it's there in case you need it later? After picking up the flare, you place it in the inside pocket of your jacket. You continue to snoop around the Captain's room and are only slightly surprised by the stack of pirated DVDs that sit on the shelf above his bed. As you reach out to grab //Open Water 2: Adrift//, a movie you had been dying to see for quite some time, you hear loud footsteps outside the door. Do you try to [[hide]] under the bed, or casually [[stay]] where you are?You determine it would be too risky to take something out of the Captain's quarters and instead make a mental note of the location of the flare. He says, "$name, don't touch anything without asking." As he turns around, you discreetly put the flare in your back pocket. You catch a crew member looking at you from afar. Do you go and [[talk]] to him or ignore him and [[explore more of the ship|explore]]?You make a mental note of the location of the flare. You see a crew member sitting alone on the other side of the ship. Do you go [[talk]] to him or [[explore]] more of the ship? You dive underneath the bed to try and avoid being seen. The Captain enters the room singing, "What do you do with a drunken sailor? What do you do with a drunken sailor? What do you... THINK YOU ARE DOING HERE?" He seems to have noticed your leg peeking out below the bed. You act cool and say, "Oh hey... I was just checking out your flooring. What type of finish did you use on the wood? Oil-based?" The Captain informs you that if something like this happens again, you won't be alive long enough to make an excuse. You walk quickly out of his quarters. Do you wish to go back to the [[top deck|lower]] with the rest of the crew or walk through some of the rooms on the [[lower deck|lower]]?You attempt to act casual while your heart is beating out of your chest. Do you wish to go back to the [[top deck|lower]] with the rest of the crew or walk through some of the rooms on the [[lower deck|lower]]?As you're walking out of the area, you notice water seeping through the sides of the boat. You inform the crew, and they acknowledge that the ship is going down. Do you want to light the [[flare]] and hope to be rescued before the ship goes down, or do you want to [[jump]] into the shark infested waters and attempt to swim to the land a few miles away? You decide to walk over and chat with the crew member. He tells you the ship is going down and you notice the water seeping through the sides. Do you use the [[flare]] and hope you'll be rescued before the ship capsizes, or do you [[jump]] into the shark infested water and attempt to swim to land a few miles away. You decide to explore more of the ship. As you are exploring you notice water seeping through the corner of the boat. You alert the crew, and they tell you the ship is going down. Do you use the [[flare]] and hope to be rescued before the ship capsizes or do you jump into the shark infested water and attempt to swim to the land a few miles away. You decide to jump into the shark infested waters and swim to the land you spotted earlier. As you're swimming, you identify the type of sharks around you. You determine most of them are nurse sharks. Thanks to the hours you spent watching Shark Week last summer you know for a fact they rarely attack humans. You swim silently for a few hours and get safely to land. Congrats, you survived. You decide to light the flare and wait, hoping to be rescued. Unfortunately, the flare does not attract enough attention and no rescue comes. The boat capsizes and you have no chance to survive because during the time waiting to be rescued, the boat drifted to far away from the land you spotted earlier. Maybe next time.[[Start]]
