,,,,,,,,,,, You walk around the city that you live in, scavenging for pretty much anything either useful or edible. You brought a bag with you to carry things. In the bag, you have a bottle of water, and a small first aid kit-just in case anything happened. You also had a knife strapped to your side.
Twenty-three years ago, the world was destroyed by natural disasters such as earthquakes and wildfires and is still struggling to restore itself. Only a small portion of the population remains and many people have become manipulative and many are willing to hurt anyone who gets in their way. Despite this, you have still come across several people whose hearts have not been affected by the disasters. Since the disasters, some people have gathered in cities and small towns and created their own small governments.
You look around the street you're walking down. There are small shops lining each side of the street.
[[look through shops]] It surely isn't bad to play it safe, especially when living in a world like this. You turn back and start walking towards the city, you could see the few tall buildings that were left standing in the distance. Many of the buildings had fallen from the earthquakes, which had been exceptionally bad in this area.
Eventually, you make it back to the main part of the city. You walk in the middle of the road, avoiding the debris that littered the ground. Abandoned cars were left around the city. Some were neatly parked and others had crashed into buildings or had been crushed by large pieces of rubble. You are getting closer to home. Would you like to [[go home]] or [[walk around the city]]?
+1 Neutral
+0 Bad
+0 Good Good choice! Materials have been quite low lately and it's unlikely you'll find anything worth your time in the city. You see a pastry shop on the other side of the street. That should have something in it, shouldn't it?
[[look in the pastry shop]]
Laws don't really work the same in this world anymore, so breaking in should be completely fine, right? But the real question is, how would you like to break in?
[[find something to break the glass with->find something]]
[[try to break it with your hand->hand]]
[[use handle of knife to break through glass->knife handle]]
[[try to find another entrance->alley]]
I think you're passing up a good opportunity, but I guess I can't control you, right? :)
Would you like to [[return to the city]] or [[continue walking down the street->continue to forest]]?Many of the other shops around you have collapsed or have already been broken into. The pastry shop was one of the few that still looked nicely preserved, so I guess that doesn't leave you with much else to do here. What would you like to do?
[[go to forest]]
[[return to city->next time]]The brick wasn't to your liking, huh? There isn't much room to be picky here, but suit yourself. There is a piece of scrap metal about the length of your forearm on the sidewalk. Surely that'll do, right? Would you like to [[use the scrap metal]] or [[get the brick->use brick]]?
You pick up the scrap metal and looked at it. It looked like it might have come from a small street sign, but the edges looked a bit sharp. Do you think you should find something to [[cover the edges with something->cover edges]] or [[leave it alone]]?
I guess daylight won't last forever, but you really should remember to be careful.
You walk up to the door and swung the piece of metal at the glass, but when the metal collided with the glass, you felt the metal dig into your palm and cut through your skin. You successfully broke through the glass, but the pain in your hand definitely takes away from your success a bit. You set the piece of metal down to look at your hand and see streams of red running to your fingertips and falling to the ground. At least the metal wasn't rusty. Would you like to [[use the first aid kit]] or [[wipe your blood off on your shirt and keep going->wipe blood]]?
You kneel down and use your good hand to get the first aid out of your bag. You clean and disinfect the cut and then wrap it in gauze. Now, don't you think it's about time you [[go into the pastry shop]]??
You kick through the rest of the glass and walk into the small shop. It is painted with soft cream colors. Despite a few things being knocked onto the floor here and there, the place looks almost as though it hasn't been affected by the disasters. The ghost of the atmosphere that once filled the shop seems to still be hanging around. You feel the cold air from outside on your back and it almost makes you regret breaking the glass because it felt like the remains of what the world once was would spill out the door and become lost in the emptiness that the world has become.
Do you want to [[sit down and take in the atmosphere -> atmosphere]] or [[look around]]?
You sit down at one of the tables and close your eyes, trying to imagine what the shop would've been like 23 years ago. Friendly conversations, the smell of sweets, warmth. The ideas that come into your mind seem so peaceful and beautiful. You open your eyes and stare down at the wooden table. You wish you could go back in time to before the disasters, but knowing you can't, you sigh and stand up. Don't you think you should [[look around]]?You look around and see a door behind the cash register. You guessed that it would lead to the kitchen. Would you like to [[go through the door]] or [[look around the cash register]]?You walk back through the space in the door. Once you are outside, you look back at the pastry shop. It's getting a little late, don't you think you should [[head back to the city->return from break ankle]]? You walk across the street to the shop. There were glass windows advertising nothing but empty plates. Perhaps there could still be something useful inside. You try to open the door, which was also glass, but it seemed to be locked. Don't you think you should [[break in]]?
You raise your arm and hit the glass with your hand, successfully cracking the glass, but not breaking through. It hurt your hand a bit, are you sure this is the best idea?
[[hit glass again]]
[[use something else->find something]] You look around the street for something to use and you see a brick that has fallen from a shop that had collapsed. Would you like to [[use the brick->use brick]] or [[look for something else]]?
You take the knife from the strap on your side. You held the knife so that the blade was facing you, the handle was only long enough for your hand, so your hand would have to get pretty close to the glass in order to break it. Are you sure you want to use the knife?
[[use knife]]
[[choose something else->find something]] You pick up the brick and carry it over to the door. After lifting it over your head with both hands, you throw it at the door. The glass shatters with a loud crash and some pieces of glass fall to the ground on the other side of the door along with the brick. Now, don't you think it's about time you [[go into the pastry shop]]??You look around for something to wrap around the edges of the metal. There isn't much lying around. You see a banner hanging by a shop.
Would you like to [[use the banner]] or [[try something else]]?You don't have many clothes, but I guess when the world has almost ended, I suppose your appearance isn't your first priority. You wipe the blood off on your shirt. Now, don't you think it's about time you [[go into the pastry shop->pastry shop blood]]??You kick through the rest of the glass and walked into the small shop. It was painted with soft cream colors. Despite a few things being knocked onto the floor here and there, the place looked almost as though it hadn't been affected by the disasters. The ghost of the atmosphere that once filled the shop seemed to still be hanging around. Your hand still hasn't stopped bleeding, you looked down and saw the blood dripping onto the floor, forming a small puddle on the tiles next to your foot. It made you slightly regret coming into the shop. You broke through the barrier that kept the cold and the emptiness out and brought the disaster into the small shop, spreading it like a plague.
Do you want to [[leave the pastry shop]] or [[look around]]?You raise your arm again and hit the door but this time you feel a sharp pain in your hand. You hissed in pain and tried to pull your hand away from the door, only causing more pain. You didn't quite understand what had happened until you heard a snapping sound from the door when your hand was released. You look down at your blood covered hand and see a long shard of glass protruding from the side of your hand. You grab the end of the glass and try to pull it out of your hand. Each time it moved slightly, you could feel it cutting through your skin more. Once you removed the piece of glass, you dropped it to the ground, causing small drops of blood to spatter across the tiles. Would you like to [[use the first aid kit->use kit glass]] or [[leave the cut alone]]?You lift your hand up and hit the glass with the handle of the knife. The end of the handle went through the glass but your hand was unharmed. Do you think you should [[hit the glass again->hit again in]] or [[try to kick through the rest of the glass->kick through in]]?I honestly thought a glass door was simple enough, but go ahead. There's an alley between the pastry shop and the shop to your right, would you like to [[go to the alley->alley desc]] or [[break through the door]]?You rip down the banner and use your knife to cut the fabric into a better size, then wrap the fabric around the bottom of the metal. You walk up to the door and swing the metal at the glass. The loud crash from the metal colliding with the glass broke through the still air. Now, don't you think it's about time you [[go into the pastry shop]]??There's some paper lying around, but don't you think it might rip? You can [[cut some fabric from your shirt->cut shirt]] or [[use the banner]].You set down the piece of metal and take your knife from your side. After cutting the fabric on your left sleeve off, you pick the metal back up and wrap the fabric around the bottom of it. You walk up to the door and swing the metal at the glass. The loud crash from the metal colliding with the glass broke through the still air. Now, don't you think it's about time you [[go into the pastry shop]]??The alley is decently wide but is overtaken by grass and weeds, but that won't be a problem, will it? Would you like to [[throw your bag to the other roof->throw bag]] or [[keep it]]?Good thinking, It would probably weigh you down. Are you ready now?

You look around the alley, the only colorful things that have managed to grow are just a few types of nice looking weeds. There were some tall white flowers and a few smaller purple flowers growing by the side of the pastry shop. You picked a couple of them and neatly tucked them into a pocket in your bag.
